From the school gate to the classroom, kitchen and swimming pool – everywhere your child goes at Hugo House has clear procedures and a named person responsible.
Cameras cover the grounds and classrooms. Footage is managed by the school to protect children's safety and privacy; if needed, parents can talk to the school leadership for support.
Only key-card holders can enter children's areas, keeping strangers out of the school.
Teachers receive each child directly from a parent, ask about their health at drop-off and share how the day went at pick-up. If someone else is collecting your child, let the teacher know in advance through EMIS or by phone with that person's name and phone number; the teacher will call you to confirm before handing your child over.
The school organises annual health check-ups for children and teachers. There is a medical room and a first-aid cabinet. If a child has a fever or feels unwell, the teacher lets them rest, keeps an eye on them and informs parents straight away; children are only given medicine with their parents' agreement.
Food from trusted suppliers, menus that change every week and strict food hygiene. Fresh food is delivered daily, and a sample of every meal is kept for 24 hours as required by the Ministry of Health.
Tables and chairs at the right height, bright and airy classrooms; the multi-purpose room has soft, shock-absorbing flooring.
Teachers at Hugo House put the child at the centre: they are patient, do not interfere with children's freedom to express themselves, and encourage children to do what they can by themselves. Teachers receive regular professional training with Ho Chi Minh City University of Education.
